Our data room provides a range of information about the fund to help you assess whether this is the right investment for you.

Just a reminder – currently, Snowball is only available to professional investors. Before you access our data room, we’ll ask you to sign an NDA and confirm that you’re a professional investor.

Before you invest in Snowball we complete Know Your Client and Anti-Money Laundering checks. Our fund administrators, NCM Fund Services, handle this for us. We are FCA regulated and our systems and processes are designed to remain compliant with changing legislation, including GDPR and MiFID II.

At the same time as the legal and compliance checks, you’ll need to complete and sign our subscription document. A member of our team is available to answer questions about this form and provide any support you may need (we recommend you seek advice where required). Once completed, you can ‘wet sign’ the document or sign electronically using DocuSign.

After the funding round closes, our fund administrator, NCM Fund Services, will send you a contribution notice with information about how and where to transfer your investment to the fund.

Snowball is currently only available to professional investors

. Professional investors engage in investing as a primary occupation and have acquired expertise in financial markets and investment strategies. Some individuals are able to opt up as an elective professional investor. For regulatory reasons, we can’t advise whether the Snowball fund is suitable for you. We recommend you take advice before making investments.

At present, we have a minimum level of investment: £500k.

We are working hard to make Snowball available to all investors and all levels of investment in the future. 

We are long term investors. We believe that long term investing has several benefits which drive both impact and financial performance. We provide you with access to private market investments, which typically means less liquidity. Illiquid private markets historically have had a proven ability to drive financial returns, and a recent study by Toniic showed portfolios achieving deeper impact through giving up liquidity. But we recognise that the future is uncertain and you might need liquidity, so we’ve created a liquidity option which is available after six months (at our discretion). 

 using the Snowball ‘bullseye score’. You can find out more about this on the 'Strategy' page of the site. We aim to drive the score of our portfolio towards the centre of the bullseye. We collect aggregated impact data from our portfolio investees and include this in quarter reporting to investors.

We target a financial return of 7%, net of fees, over the long term.

We provide investors with a quarterly investor report, providing an in depth look at our portfolio and how we’re performing. We’d be happy to send you an example report, just email hello@snowball.im

As a reminder, we place the same level of importance on impact and financial measurement so our quarter report balances both.

What impact and financial performance can I expect?

There is a lot of impact washing going on. How do I get to the heart of your impact claims?

Tell me about your current investor base.

This depends on the nature of the individual or institution investing. Typically, we ask individuals to complete an investor questionnaire about themselves and the source of funds, as well as provide certified copies of their identification and proof of address. Institutions also need to complete the questionnaire and we ask for constitutional documents, group structure chart, details of controlling persons etc.

This ultimately depends on how quickly you’re able to complete the questionnaire and gather all the necessary documentation. It’s important to remember that document certification can take a while because it must be done by an approved person (such as a lawyer or accountant). We’ll support you closely throughout this step and recommend allowing at least one week to complete it.

Yes, as long as both of you meet the criteria to invest in the fund.

This is a comprehensive document which sets out the specific terms and conditions that govern the investment relationship between the fund and its investors. It captures your acknowledgment and agreement to these terms, including details on capital commitments, investment horizons, fee structures, reporting requirements, and redemption policies. The form serves as a mechanism to ensure that investors make informed investment decisions, and allows us to assess that this is the right product for you. We will also ask your preferences for how you’d like us to communicate with you.
