Learn Capital Fund V Growth
Africa, Asia
Many children around the world are not learning to read well. Even though the majority of children are in school, a large proportion are not receiving a good standard of learning. 260 million children are not even in school. The World Bank describe this as a ‘learning crisis’. NewGlobe is helping address this by enabling schools to deliver highly standardised education which has the potential to create dramatic learning gains, and at scale. Their mission is to ensure all education systems are inclusive, equitable and transformative. They work with national and state governments to create powerful technology-enabled education systems, and apply data-driven improvements to learning outcomes. In practice this means durable tech devices in classrooms, loaded with lesson plans designed by education experts that allow more equal and consistent access to learning. An academic study of NewGlobe-supported schools in Kenya led by Nobel Prize-winning economist Micheal Kremer found one of the largest learning gains ever measured in international education.
